Title: Advancing Bridge Engineering for a Sustainable Future
Associate Professor Weiwei Lin leads the bridge engineering group at Aalto University and has built a distinguished career in the field. He has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Bridge Engineering (ASCE) and was awarded the IABMAS Young Prize by the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety in recognition of his early research on the maintenance and rehabilitation of aging bridges. Prof. Lin has authored and co-authored over 160 journal and conference papers in areas such as structural maintenance, robustness, health monitoring, and damage identification.

Prof. Labeat Misini

Asst. Prof. Labeat Misini is a faculty member at the University of Prishtina, specializing in structural engineering. He completed his Ph.D. studies at the Institute for Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS) in Skopje. His teaching responsibilities include Strength of Materials and Theory of Structures. Asst. Prof. Misini is an active researcher with publications in reputable journals and frequent participation in international conferences. His research interests include earthquake-resistant structures and advanced construction methodologies. Through his academic contributions, he aims to enhance structural safety and resilience while fostering collaboration within the engineering community.
Prof. Meryem Yalçın

Title: Improvements of daylight indoor daylight utilization methods through ceiling design
Assoc. Prof. Meryem YALÇIN is the Head of department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design and Master Graduate Program TOBB University of Economics and Technology, Ankara. She is the founder of Interior Architectural department at TOBB ETU, Tashkent. She is currently teaching vertical design studio, architectural detailing and environmental psychology courses in undergraduate level. In addition, she is teaching at Baskent University design studio as a guest professor, and Inter-disciplinary design studio in graduate level. She also conducts space and installation course and theses statements in the master degree. She is a member of IDEC, IFI and TMMOB. Her area of expertise is formation "children spaces" and she has over 35 publications most of them. She completed her Ph.D. in Art Education (2011) which was about "Pre-school Interior Spatial set-up" and her M.A. degree at Hacettepe University (2008) and her B.A. degree in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design In Bilkent University (2003). She 2004-2011 year period participated in staff trainings/mobility activities, made BA’s and worked as expert in the framework EU Programs. She 2011-present is the faculty coordinator Erasmus + Program at TOBB ETU.
Dr. Hesham El-Emam

Hesham EL-Emam is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Missouri, specializing in structural performance under extreme hazards, composite materials, and fracture mechanics. With a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri and a M.Sc. in Materials Engineering from Zagazig University, he has a robust academic and research background. His career spans roles as a postdoctoral fellow, assistant professor, and program leader, with extensive teaching and leadership experience. He has contributed significantly to research on blast mitigation, structural dynamics, and fatigue strengthening, supported by multiple grants and numerous high-impact publications. His work continues to advance the field through innovative research and dedicated mentorship. He is a registered professional engineer (P.E.).

Prof. William (Wei) Zhang

Title: Advancing Computational Wind Engineering: A Critical Review of Large Eddy Simulation Enhanced by Artificial Intelligence
Dr. William (Wei) Zhang has been dedicated to the fields of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), indoor environments, and fire/smoke control for over three decades. His primary research focuses include Indoor Air Quality, Computational Wind Engineering, Fire Modeling, and Smoke Control, utilizing advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques. In particular, he applies the Large Eddy Simulation (LES) to identify and validate sub-grid scale turbulence models, wall treatment and wall functions, turbulence inflow generation method, evaluation indicators of LES as well as to develop innovative smoke detector activation models. Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in the built environment from the University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1994. Following this, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also served as a senior scientist/engineer for Boeing, contributing to the development of its environmental control systems in the United States. In 2020, Dr. Zhang was appointed as a Guest Professor at the University of South China. Currently, he serves as the Chief Executive Engineer at the Sustainable Development Center of the China Industrial Development Research Institute.

Prof. Khaled Galal Ahmed

Title: Integrating Vertical Agriculture with Vertical Residential Buildings: A New Design Paradigm for Emirati Public Housing.
Dr. Khaled Galal Ahmed is Professor and Coordinator of Architectural Engineering MSc and PhD Programs. Dr. Khaled got his PhD from Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University, UK. He worked as an architect and urban designer and his research interest is in the fields of sustainable urbanism especially in Socio-Cultural Impact, Urban Modeling Simulation, Urban Morphology, and Urban Resilience. He published his research in international journals, conferences proceedings, and edited books. Dr. Khaled teaches courses related to architectural and urban design. He has supervised several Master theses and PhD Dissertations. He has several articles in local and regional media including National Geographic Arabia. He has been honored for his contributions by the Minister of Happiness and Wellbeing, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, Al Ain Municipality, Fujairah Municipality, and Directorate of Planning and Survey in Sharjah, etc. Dr. Khaled won the Chancellor’s Innovation Award in Education, 2021. He also won the College Excellence Award in Services, 2021. In 2023 he won both the University Excellence Award and the College Excellence Awards in Teaching. He won the University Excellence Award in Services, 2024. Dr. Khaled and his team of students won Sharjah Sustainability Award, 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 Cycles.
